About Track & Para Track
The UCI Individual Track & Para Track World Championships will take place over seven days at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow. This purpose-built velodrome was completed for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and has become a firm fixture on the international track cycling calendar since.
Track cycling is one of the most varied cycling disciplines – and the unique feature of this event brings together able-bodied and para-athletes into one World Championships. Riding on fixed-gear bikes, the riders have no brakes and use their skills and track craft to navigate through bunches and launch their sprints. It all comes down to a lunge over the line, whether it’s a time trial event or a bunch sprint.
